A walk with Nature

Today I took the kids to Hylebos State Park, a protected wet land right in the middle of Federal Way. It was beautiful! We followed the mile long trail through trees, flowers, creeks, and berry plants. Ate lunch with nature, saw dragon flies, butterflies, frogs, water bugs, and even a fox.! My girlfriend Mel and her three kiddos accompanied us. It was really a good day!

Happy Independence Day

We celebrated the 4th by heading down to Packwood, WA for the weekend. It's been a 20 year family tradition for my side to spend most of the summer there. My dad owns property and a tin can of a trailer so it makes it really easy to "camp" I use that term lightly because there is a swimming pool and golf coarse where we spend the majority of our time. It really is fun and the kids have a blast. Back at camp it's all about roasting marshmallows and hiking up to the waterfall. It's the best of both worlds, really.

It was the first time the girls slept in a tent, they were a little scared at first but when the sun came up the next morning, we were in awe with the beautiful sounds of nature. I believe it was Hannah that asked me "mommy, why can't we hear the birds at our house, it's so beautiful" Ahh country can't live at home without it.!

We headed up to the local high school to watch fire works. It was a short but great show.. both B and I were surprised the kids lasted that long, the show didn't start until 10pm!

On our way home Sunday, we spent the afternoon at skate creek. We had a great time there and all of us managed to slip at least once.

Fun in the Sun

It's been SO HOT lately! We headed up north to Kirkland to my mom's house. The girls and I stayed the night and spend all day Friday playing at Lake Washington. It was a blast!

Lunch with Daddy

WE were able to have lunch with B today.. so kewl! It's not very often that he works close enough to see. So Yay for us that he was working in Puyallup today, we met him at Subway to have lunch. The girls were so happy to see him, but were SO sad when they realized that he had to go back to work.

Coolest part for them was playing in the back of Daddy's work truck.
